Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Adds GTA-Like Wanted System - Vivek 24TIME 🎮

DMZ mode returns for Modern Warfare 4, bringing back Call of Duty's take on the "high-risk for high-reward" extraction shooter genre. Infinity Ward is expanding on the features from the original DMZ, and Modern Warfare 4 includes a new "GTA-like" Wanted system, making it a lot riskier to play loud.

DMZ's Hajin map is a hostile territory, where players want to loot and make a successful extraction with all their valuables and gear. Dangers come from fighting AI enemies as well as other real players, who might be looking to steal their loot.

Infinity Ward described the city of Hajin by saying, "When you push against the world, the world pushes back."

This includes the mode's new "star rank" feature, which sounds much like a Grand Theft Auto-like system for noting how much attention a player is drawing from opposing forces. The developer explained it by saying that the more a player fights, the tougher the opposition becomes in a given area, and the enemy will start to deploy bigger threats. One example given was that a helicopter might chase down a player with a high star rank.

However, players can opt for using stealth to eliminate enemies, as this won't count toward the star system. The UI will also provide indicators that let players know when the AI is about to spot them, giving a chance to duck for cover and break the line of sight.

This new heat-level system adds a new layer to DMZ, forcing players to choose between taking a loud fight or approaching with stealth for better survival odds. Dying in DMZ means losing everything. This includes all of the player's gear, scavenged loot, and even the operator themselves, unless they have the in-game cash to bring them back.

Infinity Ward are giving the first official look at Modern Warfare 4's DMZ during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. In addition to DMZ, the game also features a full story campaign and multiplayer. Infinity Ward confirmed the upcoming game will commit to authenticity, so players shouldn't expect any wacky operator skins like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Lady Gaga.

Modern Warfare 4 preorders are live now with standard and Vault editions of the game. Like previous years, Modern Warfare 4 is confirmed to have an open beta ahead of launch.
