We know a lot more about what to expect from Stranger Than Heaven, the upcoming Sega and RGG game that includes gameplay elements, the Tojo Clan, and even the Kamurocho location from the Yakuza / Like a Dragon series. Formerly known as Project Century, this game will be released “this winter.” That means it could show up at the very end of 2026 or early 2027. We also know the theme song features Ado, Satoshi Fujihara, Snoop Dogg, and Tori Kelly, who will also appear in the game.
A new trailer went over the new story and cast, while also teasing connections to Yakuza and Like a Dragon in Stranger than Heaven. That video also highlights how we’ll follow Makoto Daito, who leaves San Francisco in 1915 for Japan. His story starts in Fukuoka in 1915, then goes to Hiroshima in 1929, Osaka in 1943, Shizuoka in 1951, and Tokyo in 1965. It also means Makoto creates performances by getting tracks, singers, musicians, and events set up.
Here’s the new video. All the game footage is set to the theme song “Stranger than Heaven,” performed by Ado, Satoshi Fujihara, Snoop Dogg, and Tori Kelly.
There’s also a longer showcase to watch that goes over the game for about 30 minutes. That starts at about the one hour mark in the stream below.
Stranger than Heaven will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC “this winter,” which means we could see it as early as Winter 2026 or around February 2027.
