It's Mario Day, but instead of announcing any new Mario content, Nintendo set a May 21 release date for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
A video debuting on the Nintendo Today smartphone app showed what players will do in the company's next first-party Switch 2-exclusive title. The video, titled "Creature Discovery," has Yoshi jump into the eponymous "mysterious book" to find a bubble-blowing creature.
Disturbingly (but very much in character), Yoshi attempts to eat the round-headed critter, finding it to taste soapy and bitter. As the video demonstrates, Yoshi can ride inside its bubbles and carry the creature on its back to create more bubbles. The creatures can also change and add to their abilities by eating fruit, opening up several platforming possibilities.
