At long last, a new Fire Emblem game has been announced for Switch 2. Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is the next chapter in the series, and it'll be coming to Switch 2 in 2026.
After being an under-the-radar series for decades, Fire Emblem stepped into the spotlight with the well-received Fire Emblem: Awakening on the Nintendo 3DS in 2012, and it was followed by Fire Emblem: Fates in 2015. In the Switch era, the franchise expanded with the well-received Fire Emblem: Three Houses in 2019 and Fire Emblem: Engage in 2023.
While Fire Emblem: Engage didn't score as highly as Three Houses did, the game did receive generally favorable scores from various outlets for its polished gameplay and flexible battlefield tactics.
